I have heard that those who have an "all in one" installed may need to delete it, install the scanner and then reinstall the all in one as the drivers can either create install error's, or cause the scanner to perform slowly. I did have a little difficulty installing, but after "cl eaning up" my PC and ridding it of some old driver software I was no longer using, it installed fine. Later drivers may need to be downloaded from HP, but they are avialable. Again, for the money I say "A BEST BUY" as it does have full drivers available for the new Windows 7 and works with Mac thru current models.

The HP Scanjet 5590 is a good duplex scanner, which you cannot get on an all-in-one printer/scanner without upgrading to a large commercial system.
